About Albany House

Albany House is a family run residential care home caring for residents suffering from various mental illnesses, including Schizophrenia, Bi-polar, Dementia and Depression. The registered manager is Vibin Parambil Francis.

Our home was established in 1984 by Rita Ann Kemp. Albany House was initially set up as rest home for elderly clients. In the late eighties Rita and her family recognised the need to create a homely care setting for younger clients with Mental Health needs.

Sadly, Rita passed away in 2001, leaving a lasting impact on the home and the clients who fondly remember her. Pippa Solan, Rita’s daughter is now the proprietor of Albany House continuing the family legacy.

Albany House currently caters for 18 residents (male and female) from the age of 18, though the general age range is 35+. Our home is located one minutes walk from the beach and local shops. We have a beautifully landscaped garden to the rear of the Home, which clients enjoy using all year round.
