Albany House is a family-run residential care home caring for residents suffering from various mental illnesses, including Schizophrenia, Bi-polar, Dementia and Depression. Our Registered Manager is Mrs Dee Reilly
Established in 1984 by Rita Ann Kemp, Albany House was initially set up as rest home for elderly clients. In the late eighties Rita and her family recognised the need to create a homely care setting for younger clients with Mental Health needs.
Today, we continue the family legacy under the care of Pippa Solan, Rita’s daughter, ensuring the same level of compassionate care that has defined us for decades.
Comfortable Bedrooms
Well-appointed, comfortable rooms for all residents. Each room is well facilitated, comes with wash hand basins and we can arrange to get a TV set if required.
Beautiful Gardens
Large garden to the rear with barbecues, themed parties, and outdoor activities. Features covered smoking area, wooden gazebo, and herb garden.
Dining Area
Social dining environment where residents enjoy meals together, fostering community and providing flexibility in meal timing.
Living Area
Central space where residents relax and socialize, with wonderful atmosphere perfect for meeting with families and friends.

Accommodation & Living
18 residents (male and female) from age 18+, each with well-appointed bedrooms featuring wash hand basins. Television sets can be arranged for individual rooms upon request. Our spacious living areas provide the perfect atmosphere for socializing with family and friends.
Bathroom & Personal Care
Three well-equipped bathrooms, with two featuring modern shower facilities to accommodate different mobility needs and preferences. All bathrooms are designed with safety and accessibility in mind.
Kitchen & Domestic Facilities
A large, accessible kitchenette where residents can prepare their own drinks and snacks, promoting independence and choice. This is in addition to the home’s main kitchen where our chefs prepare wonderful daily meals of residents’ choice. We are proud to consistently be rated 5 stars from the food standards agency.
Recreation & Communication
Engaging in-house and external activities to support and enhance social skills and well-being. Family members are always welcome to visit and participate in activities. Trips and outings are regularly organised in our local community supported by staff.
Staff support residents with the use of the internet, skype, zoom and all other digital platforms.
Outdoor Spaces
A covered smoking shelter provides a comfortable outdoor space, while our extensive gardens offer fresh air and natural beauty for all residents to enjoy, regardless of weather conditions.
